When Sheila and Richie first moved into their Perth home in 2013, they could see its potential immediately. The property had good structure but had been rented out for years and it needed several upgrades to truly feel like home.

Over the years, they tackled improvements gradually. Early on, new windows and doors were installed. But as time passed and styles changed, the exterior no longer reflected how the homeowners wanted their home to look.
Sheila spoke to us about their experience, explaining:
“We’d talked about replacing the windows for a couple of years,” Sheila explained. “We just had to get the timing right and make sure we chose a company we could really trust.”
With their home situated on a busy road, reducing noise and refreshing the exterior became increasingly important and in 2025, they felt the time was right to upgrade their home.
Finding a trusted local partner in Perth
Choosing a local Perth-based company mattered to both of them, but just as important was feeling confident in the people coming into their home. After speaking to several companies and visiting a few showrooms, Sheila came across Cairnview Windows & Doors.
“I had seen their vans passing and noticed they were doing work in the area, so I had a drive past to see the quality of work. I was really impressed, so we got in touch”

Sheila and Richie initially visited Cairnview’s showroom based at Perth Airport in Scone and immediately noticed the difference.
“There was no pressure at all. Cheryl was lovely, really knowledgeable and just easy to talk to. We didn’t feel sold to, we felt listened to.”
A home consultation was then booked with the couple, where their ideas started to take shape naturally. From that moment on, the decision felt effortless.
“We didn’t even look anywhere else. Once we met Cheryl, we knew Cairnview was the company we wanted.”
A project that grew beyond windows and doors

What started as a plan to replace their windows and doors soon became a full exterior upgrade. The homeowners decided to also update the roofline, the garage door and exterior cladding beneath the living room window – luckily, Cairnview can offer all of this in one place.
“Once we started talking it through, it just made sense to do everything at the same time. That way, it’s finished, and finished properly.”
Approaching the home as a complete project ensured a consistent finish and avoided future disruption for the family.
Design choices that made it feel like home
Sheila had always loved grey window frames. Years before, she had even been a little jealous of a neighbour’s new windows in that colour. At the time, the cost meant white was the only realistic option, but this time around, she could finally have the colour she dreamed of.
The moment the new uPVC windows were installed, Sheila couldn’t stop smiling. The frames in colour Anthracite Grey, completely transformed the exterior, giving the home a more modern and clean look – practical for everyday living and very little maintenance – something Sheila was delighted about.
It was the thoughtful details that truly elevated the results, such as bronze handles to complement the interior finishes and matching frosted glass in the bathroom window and on the back of the front door – all suggestions by the Cairnview team.
“They suggested things I would never have thought of and those little details made a huge difference.”
Installation with care and precision

The main installation was originally scheduled for two weeks but the installation team, Mel, Brian and Andy, completed it in just one. They worked efficiently, kept disruption to a minimum and treated the home with care, making sure to tidy up after themselves as they went along. Even small touches like fitting a curtain pole before leaving made a big impression for Sheila.
“It sounds small, but it meant a lot. They didn’t have to do that, but they did.”
Replacing the bathroom window against her newly tiled walls had Sheila worried initially, but the team took it in their stride and completed without even a chip.
Clear communication every step of the way
From start to finish, communication was consistent, honest and reassuring.
“There were no surprises. Everything happened when they said it would and the costs were exactly as expected.”
Even when the garage door arrived later due to manufacturing times, Cairnview kept Sheila and Richie fully informed and completed additional exterior cladding at the same time.
“We always knew what was happening. That gave us real peace of mind.”
A home they’re proud of
The transformation was immediate and has made the couple the envy of friends and family. The home now feels warmer, quieter and more comfortable, with condensation issues resolved and the exterior refreshed from every angle.
“The living room instantly felt brighter, and even on a busy road, it was quieter inside. There were even people stopping outside, looking at the house – that felt really good.”
Sheila and Richie now have a Perth home that is not only beautiful and functional but also completely aligned with their vision – a home they can be proud of for years to come.
“We would highly recommend Cairnview Windows & Doors to anyone looking for uPVC windows, doors and roofline. They couldn’t have been more helpful, knowledgeable and professional throughout the entire process.”
