Danny & Irene’s Home Transformation

A kitchen with two windows above a white farmhouse sink, wooden countertops, and a washing machine on the left. A heart-shaped decoration hangs between the windows, with a stone wall and trees visible outside.

When Danny and Irene moved into their new home, they quickly realised that the windows and doors would need replacing. The property was full of character and charm, but the original wooden frames were showing age, with some starting to rot. The previous owners had even resorted to stuffing the gaps in the windows with cardboard and tissue to keep the draught out.

The main focus in their search for new windows and doors was something that would be in keeping with the traditional style of their home, whilst making it warmer, more energy efficient and secure.

Choosing the right company

After speaking with several local companies and gathering quotes, Danny and Irene chose Cairnview Windows & Doors. What won them over was the combination of trust, local reputation and genuine expertise.

From the first initial visit with Home Consultant Andy, the couple were impressed. He arrived not as a salesman, but as a skilled joiner with years of experience, ready to offer clear and honest advice. He listened carefully to what the couple wanted, explained the options clearly and made sure they understood how each choice would work in their home.

“Andy was very helpful. He is very experienced. We never got any salesman’s pitch, which was exactly what we were looking for.”

When Irene visited the Cairnview showroom, she was met by Bella and Cheryl, who took the time to walk her through the different design options. They showed her window opening styles, discussed safety considerations and offered suggestions that would preserve the home’s charm. It was this level of attention and care that made them confident they’d found the right team.

Bringing the vision to life

After weighing up all the options, the couple decided on white uPVC casement double-glazed windows, perfectly matching the property’s original style. They also upgraded their front door on Cairnview’s recommendation, choosing a design that added to the home’s kerb appeal whilst providing security.

The installation was proposed to be completed before Christmas, which was a tight deadline, but Cairnview Windows & Doors delivered exactly as they had promised. Installers Brian, Andy and Mel were very friendly, tidy and kept the couple updated at every stage, making the process smooth and stress-free.

Service that goes beyond installation
Not everything was plain sailing for the install, but it was how Cairnview Windows & Doors handled those moments that really impressed Danny & Irene. When the manufacturers’ Georgian bar inserts in the windows arrived with a defect, the team acted immediately without question, contacting the supplier and arranging for a complete replacement.

For the couple, this was the mark of true professionalism, knowing that they wouldn’t need to chase anyone or fight to have issues resolved. They felt in safe hands and everything was dealt with quickly and with the same attention to detail as the original installation.

“We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. Everything was straightforward, never pushy and handled with care. We will be using them again in the future for more work on our new home.”

A lasting difference

A white stucco house with brown trim features three rectangular windows on the visible wall, two of which are slightly tilted, and a sloped roof. Another building is partially visible in the background.

Today, the couple enjoy a home that’s warmer, quieter and more secure. The draughts are gone, their heating bills are lower and the front of their house has a fresh, welcoming look.

“We are delighted with our new windows and doors. It’s made such a difference, especially in the colder months. A very worthwhile investment.”

For Danny and Irene, it was important to find a local company they could trust to listen, advise and see the job through from start to finish. In the process, they gained more than just a better home, they found a team they can rely on for years to come.
